The development
Respectful of the initial mission assigned by the ministries, SFERE will orientate its development with a priority to non French speaking countries. Asia, Latin America, Near and Middle East, become its main sphere of action. New overseas scholarship programs are implemented with Indonesia, Venezuela, Iraq, the Philippines, and Angola... They now also target new levels of education such as Master and Doctorate.
In 1989
At the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who wishes to rationalize its cooperation system, SFERE takes over other existing scholarship programs (China, Mexico, Brazil...) so far managed by C.E.F.I International, another French body. As a result, engineer degree level enters into SFERE scope of competence, thus making it the one and only French organization capable of offering the full potential of the French educational and training system to its partners overseas.
For 35 years, SFERE will successfully accomplish its mission, by completing more than 700 projects in 80 countries.
- Almost 25 000 lecturers, researchers, engineers, managers and technicians from non French-speaking countries have completed their degree in France, mainly at Engineer, Master and PhD levels.
- 2400 experts have been mobilized to provide technical assistance to foreign countries for projects of creation and/or modernization of their educational and training systems.
