Malaysian Engineers Program
Sfere has been the historic operator of Malaysian engineering scholarships programs in France since 1995.
At the request of Telekom Malaysia in 1995, then Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) and Petronas a few years later, we designed and implemented an academic solution enabling young students to go to France every year to become Engineers in all fields of engineering sciences and new technologies. Sfere provides comprehensive, tailor-made support designed to help them succeed both academically and professionally
Preparing for departure
Sfere helps selected students to prepare for their departure, simplifying the administrative procedures and visa process, and ensuring that they have all the documents they need for their arrival in France.
Reception and settling in France
Sfere prepares and simplifies the settling-in process for students in France: welcome at the airport, transfer to the city of study, assistance and advice with administrative formalities, settling in the city of study, booking accommodation, taking out insurance (health, housing, etc.), opening a bank account…
Language and academic preparation
Sfere pilots and supervises an intensive French language program, enriched by specific academic preparation combining intercultural activities and scientific upgrading. The program, tailor-made for Malaysian students, takes place at selected Instituts Universitaires de Technologie (IUT) in Blois and Tours. Lasting from 10 to 12 months, it prepares students effectively while facilitating their adaptation to the French education system and culture.
Orientation and academic registration
Specializations in engineering sciences and new technologies are plentiful, especially in a country with such a strong technological tradition as France.
Sfere helps students discover and understand the different courses available, guides them in their orientation and choice, and accompanies them through to admission.
The SFERE Malaysia program provides access to the network of IUT and Écoles d’Ingénieurs (engineering schools) throughout France. After 5 years of study, students obtain an Engineer and/or Master’s degree.
Follow-up and personalized support
Beyond simple administrative and linguistic support, our program also includes – and above all – close, ongoing academic support to ensure student success.
We provide pedagogical support, including personalized tutoring sessions with teachers or student mentors. This individualized support is a key factor in their success. Each IUT / Ecole d’Ingénieur has a designated tutor (referent professor) to ensure regular follow-up and smooth progress.
Monitoring reports are regularly submitted to the Malaysian authorities, informing them of the program’s progress and alerting them in case of difficulties.
